- Salesforce.com to search for contacts, search for content (if the organization is using Content Libraries), and to post updates to opportunities, accounts, contacts, and leads.
- Cloud storage locations such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.
- Public locations like corporate websites, and YouTube.
- Email systems like Google Apps (Gmail), Office 365 (Outlook).
Illumineto Spark helps sales professionals by using the public APIs of these various systems to provide a federated integration, allowing sales professionals to search for content in one UI, that searches across Salesforce.com, Google Drive, Broadsoft.com, YouTube, etc.
Illumineto Spark only uses OAUTH tokens and authorized APIs from the various providers. Illumineto Spark never asks the user for a username or password, except from 3rd party APIs that specifically require this method (i.e. some CRM systems - not Salesforce.com).
All access is done using the logged in user's OAUTH token. Illumineto Spark is not requesting admin access. Spark is limited to only the rights of the logged in user.
The OAUTH token requested does have offline access. For example, a sales professional creates a Spark Page to send to a prospect. The prospect opens up the Spark Page two days later. When the prospect opens the page, Illumineto Spark will use the OAUTH token to write an activity update into the SFDC opportunity record. Here is an example of how that works:
